Currently files which have co-authoring mode enabled allow users to check in (ending the session) or free. There is no option to update server copy which would be useful when using Teams/Sharepoint/OneDrive for longer collaboration sessions.
Bonus: ability to enable autosave/synchronization for co-authoring files.
Currently what I do is to check out files, copy them to Sharepoint, and use Powershell to overwrite the local dms file then update server copy on a regular basis.

When I look at the contextual men, the Update server Copy is not available
